Best Desserts in Austin

Let’s get this out of the way first. I am not a dessert person. (Sorry, Zooey Deschanel)

I usually like savory snacks and foods, so if I want to eat dessert somewhere, it must be pretty darn good.

Austin has great food, and like anyplace with great food, great desserts. I had a ton of both while I was there, and I have rounded up my favorite sweets from the Lone Star State’s capital.

Bougie’s Donuts

Bougie’s Donuts is a gourmet donut shop with unique donuts like Pineapple Upside Down Cake and Cherry Limeade. I ordered the Strawberry Shortcake and a regular glazed donut, AKA the Classic. If you’re a lover of good coffee, grab a cup here. They serve Cuvee!

Tiny Pies

If you know me, you know my love for tiny things, so right away, Tiny Pies had my heart! I’m a sucker for Apple Pie A La Mode and Tiny Pies had that too. We’re 2 for 2, people!

Bananarchy

I’m including this one solely for my friends that love this sort of dessert because I can take it or leave it. I’m really only a fan of bananas by themselves (and sometimes cut up in Cheerios).

It’s both weird and not weird that I do not take a picture for Bananarchy. It’s weird because I take pictures of everything. It’s not weird because I was so excited to say “There is ALWAYS money in the Banana Stand,” that I didn’t have time to take a photo. I only had time to shove a banana in my face for my friend, John, and remember that I’m not a fan of cold bananas.

I did enjoy the banana dipped in peanut butter, though. If I can enjoy it, it must be the best darn banana stand in the country.

Here is an awesome picture that my friend, Lauren A., took, though!

Lick Honest Ice Cream

Lick has amazing and unique flavors of ice cream. I can’t get over how good my Goat Cheese, Thyme, and Honey ice cream was. Like seriously, it had the best savory, sweet combo flavor. AND IT WAS SOOOO CREAMY! It was #dreamycreamy. Yep, I just typed that and you just read that. You’re welcome

Are you from Austin? Have you been to any of these places? Do you agree with this list? Did I miss your favorite dessert? Let me know in the comments below!
